Life is like a box of chocolates
March 2015. I bought the pattern and fabric packet at the Road to California show this past January. The fabric is of chocolates and the pattern reminded me of a Whitman chocolate box assortment. I started and completed the quilt top while at Walker Creek retreat weekend. I had purchased 2 yards of a fabric of mice carrying various chocolates. Originally I was going to use it for the borders but the women of the retreat (and I agreed) that it just did not look right. It deterred the look of Whitman chocolate box. I think I may use it for part of the backing (not enough to be the complete backing).
Quilt Guild Medallion Round 5
May 2015. This is round 5 of the medallion. I felt it needed more white area for the eye to rest upon. I toyed with spelling out "nova" in Morse code but felt that would be too obscure.
I final settled on yet another border from the Log Cabin Borders and Corners book. The patterns are paper pieced but I didn't feel that was necessary for this one so I did standard piecing technique. I do think it worked out well.

Time is Passing Us By
May 2015
I gave Mom the fabric and pattern for this for Mother's Day 2014. The pattern is GREAT!! Costa Maya by Snow Day Designs. The only slightly tricky part was the borders as they are made along with the blocks and just need to be sized. Had no issues getting it to come together well.
Dec 2015
I quilted this with increasing loops in the log cabin areas and straight edges in the dark and light clock print areas. I started with free hand straight lines and hated it! Not very straight. So I bit the bulled and used the straight edge template that each Karen and I purchased while at the Hersey PA show this past year. It took me a bit to get comfortable with it but WOW so much better. Having a hard time with the foot on the Bailey but after done, I went online and found that the Bailey now has a template hopper foot. Purchase made...can't wait to try it out on another quilt. If I get straight line down, I have several quilts I've been holding off on that I will finally do!

Who Me?
April 2015,
I bought this as a kit from a local shop vendor a the Palm Springs Mancuso show that Mom, Bambi and went to last October. I made the top there as we were having a mini-retreat. I generally don't like applique but this as a fairly simple one. I backed with a striped Minky. Pattern is Zoey's Zoo by Sassafras Lane Designs.

Underwater Shimmer
I got the pattern and fabric at one of the Long Beach shows, vendor Dragon <something>. I got a second kit too of a different fish fabric. The technique is really interesting and less complicated the previous Fractured techniques that came from a magazine and we did several years ago with Karen. This technique uses the fusible interfacing with grid lines which makes getting from layout to sewn so easy!! I made the quilt top in the summer of 2012.
