Sept 2015
Over the summer we can check out books from our guild library for two months. I wanted to improve on my paper piecing skills so I checked out Quilt with Attitude by Deb Karasik and decided to try Hommage A La Beaute De New York but only 4 blocks to make a medallion center. I used scraps for the colors. The paper piecing was fairly simple and I'm getting better. But the sewing of convey to convex curves was a bit tricky but not as bad as I had expected. I'm really looking forward to see what others do with it. I'm calling it Phoenix Star.

Mom like kits. The fabrics are selected and everything she needs is
there. Some kits seem to have a lot of extra fabric. I keep the
fabrics together generally and in the past two years I've made a few
medallion centers.
This was kit that mom had. Not to exciting of a medallion but I'm amazed what people do with these at times.
Sept 2016; Finished:
The fabric was from a kit of mom's and the pattern was a paper piece that was from the quilting calendar I was given this year.
