Accents on an Angle -- black & white with bits of color

August 12, 2016

Mom and I saw this quilt while at Sister's Outdoor Quilt show this year and really liked it.  I actually already had the book and so pulled out a bunch of my black & whites from our stash and a batch of colors got while in Pennsylvania last year and started it at Hen House. Book is Accent on Angles by Susan Purney Mark.

After making a couple of strip sets and blocks one change I'd recommend is make the strip sets 7 to 7.5 inches instead of 6.5 because reassembling after the inserts is a bit difficult to keep the 6.5 inches so if it is a bit oversized it is easy to trim block to 6.5 and less stressful! It isn't as if there are any seams to match. On final item that the book does not mention, the angle cuts should always be in the same direction.  I didn't know that and mine are in both directions.  Not that it is that noticeable. Completed quilt top August 24.  Completed quilt in November.

Size: 55x55
June 2017; Sold at Wine Country Quilt Show boutique $200
