Year two of doing this activity.
Updated Website in November 2016. Started asking for entries in January2017, I stopped requesting more entries mid March but just reminded people of the April 8 deadline and that last in would be first out. Entries came in earlier on April 1st there was 200 entries. Expected to decline the last 3 people who entered 5 quilts each, but once request for pulls went out almost all made it in. 1 person who had 3 smallish quilts but wanted them hung together was declined. Those will be first next year.

Things to change from last years notes:
1) add field "inspired by (book, pattern, class, etc..) for entries -- DONE
2) don't request quilt entries until January -- I did this and no adverse impact. Will continue.
3) stick to last in first our when no more room -- We did adhere to this and there were a few people that were to be impacted but as we asked if anyone wanted to pull quilts these all made it back in.
4) add quilt size to for sale signs --- oops forgot to do this
5) Consider another unique identifier schema -- I did not make a change and this was still a problem in that I did give several quilts the same identifier and that eventually got fix during reconciliation and such. Not sure how to improve it since using the last name is significant to the give back process.
Quilt Drop-off recommendation from last year.
1)
Don't have entries on the take-in sheets when know to be Friday's drop
off (Pointless Sisters) -- sorry that was my foo-pah, rookie mistake. -- Done.
2) More pens - Done
3) It is difficult to write on the labels (soft surface). Improve that if possible. -- Got felt tip pin for each table.
4) New or sharpen the safety pins used on the bundles. -- Use fabric strips to tie up bundles instead of safety pins.
5) Confusion with the "B" and "BE" and "W" designation... just use numbers. -- Done
6) Is it possible to have 1 piece of paper per person? -- Not able to do for quilt that are for sale because if sold then not picked up.
To do differently in 2018:
- do not have entry form printed at printer, cost was nearly $60, which is nearly two print cartridges. Had 250 printed and had nearly 100 left over. Consider printing in groups of 50.
- even more pens
- let take-in team know that felt tip pen being used on quilt label will not bleed through.
- Renumber the dining room layout. Consider each of the large booths as a single number. There are too many numbers in that room and are not logically laid out.
- The For Sale green labels that are pinned to quilt ... have the quilt dimensions added .
- Be sure to get a phone number for sold quilts that are being picked up on Sunday.
- Consider another unique identifier for quilts ... I had a couple get the same identifier.
- Labels on quilts when wet do bleed so have them printed on laser printer instead of ink-jet.
- Change pick-up time. 5 to 5:45
