Elephant Walk class by Jennifer Sampou

May 20, 2017

Mom and I took this class of a paper pieced elephant and woman that is then appliqued onto a random pieced background.  We worked on one project together.  We got the woman and most of the elephant done in class.

June; completed the random pieced background and the elephant.  I want the turn edge of elephant instead of satin stitch so used Stitch-N-Peel to turn the elephant's edges.  It was more difficult because of the seams.  But got it done.  I don't think the woman will work well with turn edge because of the seams and smaller size.  Jennifer did provide a "baby elephant" in the class so I'm going to try that instead of the woman.

June 14; Finished the quilt top with the two baby elephants.   The turn edge with Stitch-N-Peel went well although the multiple seams that came together were tricky.  This technique is fast becoming my favorite.  I may put the girl on the back of the quilt.

Finished quilting in July
